I love what I do, and that’s important, because it gives me a sort of sixth sense when I’m doing it. I can intuit what you’re unable to see in your story—distill the essence of it, if you will. At heart, I am a craftsperson. I care deeply about both quality and your satisfaction, and I go to any length to make sure you are as thrilled with your memoir as you will be with the process of creating it together.

One of the reasons I'm passionate about writing memoirs is that whatever type of story you have to tell, you're the hero in your own journey. Even if you don't see this initially, you will discover it, and it’s one of my favorite aspects of the memoir-writing process.

I also have faith in the power of memoir. Memoir has the power to let us know we’re not alone, to let us know where we came from and where we can go, and to show us our lives have meaning. Memoirs help us understand how events, situations, and people affect us, and how our resulting choices form our character.

Memoir helps us recognize the themes in our lives, identify our unique and universal qualities, share what we’ve learned in life, answer questions, absolve regrets, track our progress, rejoice in our blessings, and put our setbacks and progress in perspective.

Some memoirs change our lives. Some make us think. Some make us laugh. Some shed light on confusion. The best memoirs accomplish all this and more.

Last but not least, a good memoir will never fail to afford us escape from our daily travails.
